Foreign money transfers are expensive – even when there are apparently ‘no fees’. TransferWise lets you transfer money at the lowest possible cost, using peer-to-peer technology that cuts out traditional bank fees altogether. It hopes to turn the whole money transfer sector on its head.
The Economist described it as "using the Skype principle to slash the rates that people pay to send money abroad" while Financial Times said that TransferWise had the potential "to spark a digital revolution in financial services".
